dark eye rings

hello girls, i saw this article on My Paper (我报)on Wed and thought it was pretty interesting so i translated it briefly (the original article was in chinese).

it wrote that there are 3 kinds of dark eye rings - green, purple-blue, and brown-black. judging from the colour of your dark eye rings, you can determine the cause of your dark eye rings.

to determine the colour of your dark eye rings, you can use the following methods:

1) flatten your lower eyelids with your finger, and observe whether the colour of your dark eye rings fade.
2) hold a mirror and lift your face 45 degrees upwards. observe through the mirror for any changes in your dark eye rings.

results of your observations:

1) you have green dark eye rings if - when you flatten your lower eyelids, the colour of your dark eye rings fade. and when you lift your head, your dark eye rings remain obvious.

2) you have purple-blue dark eye rings if - when you flatten your lower eyelids and when you lift your head, the colour of your dark eye rings fade.

3) you have brown-black dark eye rings if - when you flatten your lower eyelids, the colour of your dark eye rings remain the same (i.e. never fade), and when you lift your head, your dark eye rings remain obvious.

cause of your dark eye rings:

1) green - most common colour. due to poor blood circulation, lack of exercise, lack of sleep.

2) purple-blue - commonly found on people with lines around the eyes, and those prone to water retention. due to poor blood circulation.

3) brown-black - commonly found on people who are always out in the sun but don't apply sun block, who puts on make-up daily but never thorougly remove make-up, and those who always rub their eyes.

solutions:

1) green - improve blood circulation but CANNOT rub eyes forcefully, which may in turn lead to lines appearing. buy eye cream that will stimulate blood circulation, like those with vit C and E content. stay away from cold drinks, drink warm beverages instead.

2) purple-blue - to prevent water retention, stay away from tidbits and supper 2 hours before you sleep. when applying eye cream, do not use your fingers to try and flatten your eyebags. sleep early. spend 10 mins before sleeping on stretching exercises to stimulate blood circulation.

3) brown-black - do not rub your eyes when removing eye make-up. apply 2 layers of eye cream every time. use whitening eye masks every once/twice a week. apply sun block!

wenrong: my sister has skin problems too, and she stands by Cetaphil & QV. they're not as nice-smelling as Bodyshop's moisturizers, but work well for skin prone to allergies.

i'm using QV now, and i like it a lot, just good old moisturizing. get them from Watsons/Guardian, but of course they'll be cheaper at the neighbourhood shops.

:)
