dear makeup gurus,
i am interested in getting a nude lipstick and have found some potential ones. but there are so many nude colours to choose from and i have no idea how to try the lipstick on in order to find a suitable one. i can't possibly put it onto my lips rite?

i saw on some taiwan beauty variety show that you're supposed to try on your arm, near your wrist where you are suppose to be fairer. cos the skin tone there is closest to your face. can try several shades at one go and see which ones match your skin tone the most!
haha. last time when i went bodyshop, they clean off the top layer of the tester and used a cotton bud to let me try it on my lips. the feeling abit eeky thou. haha. i say go with yj's reference instead. but lip stick... i like can already wad. no? haha
i bot alot of lipsticks then to discover its not the colour that i think it would appear. i use yj method too.but our natural lipcolour is a factor too. so wat i suggest and sometimes still do even thou it look silly is to use ur own lipstick as a reference.i would apply it on my lip then make some mental note whether shlg i get a shade or two shades lighter/darker more pink/orange. then before i go shopping i go the toilet to draw a streak on my hand and that will be the one i use to determine my next lipstick colour.i think thats the best way.. haha dun laugh at me. thou i think with more different lipcolour you use you would be able to better picture how the lipcolour looks on your lips.
sorry for the grammar errors anyway wish you guys happy valentine's. its chu ba today 7 more days of CNY to go.
ok i'll bring a lipstick out next time haha. skin is different colour from lips so v hard to gauge. thanks everyone!
huiu i dunnoe if you like this method. sometime if my lipstick too red, i dust a little loose powder to tone down. then i blot my lips.
