cleansing oil

as we all know, make up removal is extremely important and we should never ever sleep with our make up, no matter how tired/drunk we are.

when i went to Japan for my grad trip, amidst all the packs of collagen pills i got for my friends, i also bought a bottle of 60ml Fancl Mild Cleansing Oil for myself. it is selling for $18 in Singapore, and i think i paid around $13 in Japan. one plus point about this cleansing oil is that it can be used on a wet face and with wet hands, proving extremely convenient. the texture is neither oily nor thick, and is a real breeze to use. my only complaint is that despite its advertised wonders, it failed to remove my waterproof mascara.

i have also used a cheaper alternative, the Biore cleansing oil. this is meant to be used on a dry face with dry hands, and the cleansing is very oily (ha) and thick. its selling in Watsons for about $13, though i think you can get them cheaper at the neighbourhood toiletries shops. though less convenient to use than the Fancl Mild Cleansing Oil, this cleansing oil also removes my waterproof mascara with better ease.

verdict: i much prefer Biore's cleansing oil, for its price in Singapore, and that fact that it does not expire after 3 months. all Fancl products come with a 3 month expiry date, and it would be rather wasteful to bin unfinished cleansing oil, especially if you don't use make-up everyday.

(and i'm typing this review while the rest are having happy drinks at Clarke Quay. i'm home on a Friday night miserable because of the wind in my stomach. boo.)
